For better or worse, Simon is a survivor. Despite being raised in a nihilistic cult (Eden), the man wants nothing more than to continue living. He refuses to become nothing but fodder for a singular tree amidst a dying universe. It's why he takes the opportunity from the C.O.I. (Coalition of Iron) to join the Convict Realization Program in hopes of securing his freedom. Although he was complicit in the crimes committed against them that landed him in jail in the first place, he didn't agree with how far his fellow brothers of Eden went. He is not a cruel man but can be decisive, blunt, and will stop at almost nothing to do what needs to be done.

Born after The Quiet Rapture, a universe of slowly dying stars and dwindling resources is all Simon has ever known. He was raised as a Child of Eden and taught to revere The Last Tree. Throughout his life, they were in conflict with the C.O.I. for as long as he can remember. He joined the fight against them where he could once old enough. Unfortunately, a mission at Filament Station led to the unplanned destruction of it and death of 62 people. Simon surrendered to the C.O.I. after and was placed in prison for his crimes.



He joined the Convict Realization Program to try and gain back his freedom when the opportunity presented itself. His mission was simple: go into an ocean of blood, investigate the potential resources to be drawn from it by taking pictures, and be set free. Unfortunately, for Simon, the task ended up being anything but straightforward and the C.O.I. kept withholding his freedom by tacking on more conditions. But what he discovered down in the bloody depths was much bigger than him, the C.O.I., and anything in creation... of their universe, anyway.
