personality
For better or worse, Simon is a survivor. Despite being raised in a nihilistic cult (Eden), the man wants nothing more than to continue living. He refuses to become nothing but fodder for a singular tree amidst a dying universe. It's why he takes the opportunity from the C.O.I. (Coalition of Iron) to join the Convict Realization Program in hopes of securing his freedom. Although he was complicit in the crimes committed against them that landed him in jail in the first place, he didn't agree with how far his fellow brothers of Eden went. He is not a cruel man but can be decisive, blunt, and will stop at almost nothing to do what needs to be done.

Born after The Quiet Rapture, a universe of slowly dying stars and dwindling resources is all Simon has ever known. He was raised as a Child of Eden and taught to revere The Last Tree. Throughout his life, they were in conflict with the C.O.I. for as long as he can remember. He joined the fight against them where he could once old enough. Unfortunately, a mission at Filament Station led to the unplanned destruction of it and death of 62 people. Simon surrendered to the C.O.I. after and was placed in prison for his crimes.
He joined the Convict Realization Program to try and gain back his freedom when the opportunity presented itself. His mission was simple: go into an ocean of blood, investigate the potential resources to be drawn from it by taking pictures, and be set free. Unfortunately, for Simon, the task ended up being anything but straightforward and the C.O.I. kept withholding his freedom by tacking on more conditions. But what he discovered down in the bloody depths was much bigger than him, the C.O.I., and anything in creation... of their universe, anyway.

I tend to be more introspective/verbose than ecats leaning, personally, but not every tag will be paragraphs long or anything. I also like a bit of fun text spam as much as the next person occasionally.
BACKTAGGING: I tend to backtag pretty far on threads that might mean significant character development, CR growth, etc. in games. PSLs or meme threads really have no time limit though.
That said, I will check in if approximately a month goes by without a return tag on a potentially important thread to see if the interest is still there. If not, no worries! We can hash it out and move forward to something easier.
THREADHOPPING: Check in with me and the other party first, but usually it's fine as long as it's appropriate/applicable!
PRIVATE FILTERS: If applicable, totally fine by me. If marked as [private], I'd also prefer it be kept between those two characters unless worked out otherwise as to why someone would be snooping.
SENSITIVE TOPICS: Simon comes with a plethora of cw's because of the nature of his canon. Body horror, psychological horror, being raised in a cult, and things relating to that nature! I will warn when applicable though.
As a player, my only real limit is intentional/malicious/realistic long-term abuse and/or harm to children that isn't portrayed as anything but what it is i.e. horrible. (Basically, don't play off hitting kids or anything as a 'gag' or 'bit' intending for it to be funny rather than alarming and we're good.)
SMUT: I'm completely open to it, but Simon might not be so good luck! I have a preference for writing out smut, but don't mind discussing 'fade to black' scenarios or hashing out the details OOCly.
ROMANCE/SHIPPING: Not impossible, but will absolutely be a slow burn with Simon here. That's the last thing on his mind, generally, and I headcanon him as likely demisexual so he'll need lots of trust/understanding before even considering that as an option.
CONFLICT: It's probably inevitable with what a blunt, straightforward kind of guy Simon is. He doesn't mean to piss people off, but he does say what he thinks sometimes for better or worse.
VIOLENCE: You want The Butcher? Fine! You can have him! In all seriousness though, this is also likely at some point but be warned Simon is uuhhhh a bit intense. He might need someone to stop him if things get too heated. He has some Anger Issues and doesn't always know how to hold himself back if that's necessary.
BADMOUTHING: I'm totally fine with this! He's awkward, abrasive, and even if well-meaning- It's likely he's going to ruffle some feathers and upset folks. Absolutely link me though, I wanna see whoever is dunking on Simon.
